KindCraft's Something To Eat Packing Party
Time & Location
About The Event
By definition, food insecurity is “the limited or uncertain availability of nutritionally adequate and safe food.” 16.2 million children lack the means to get enough nutritious food on a regular basis, and 1 in 5 children in Kansas City suffer from food insecurity.
A Something to Eat packing party is a way to serve together with your best friend, grandma, younger siblings, scout groups, sports team, school groups, coworkers and the list goes on! Whether you are 3 years old or 90+ years old, there is something you can do. You will stand shoulder to shoulder with your group and pour cups of rice, soy, vegetables, vitamins, and cheese into a bag and then weigh, seal, and box each bag as together we dream of each box going down the street to the local food pantry. You may even be asked to show off your favorite dance move or strike the gong as we hit our meal goals! Each meal you package will help the 1 in 5 children that struggle with food insecurity. Are you unsure of what being food insecure means? Don’t worry we will have an educational time where you can learn about this and other facts about hunger and poverty!
Join us for what is sure to be a FUN night that will spark great conversation among your family!
