About The Event

We have a limited number of take-home kits (max two per family). Registration will close once all kits have been reserved and/or the day before the finished wreaths are due.

Why create Valentine's Wreath?

Not only are Valentine's crafts for seniors fun and festive, they are also an easy way to decorate and brighten up their living space. Join us for a family service project and spend time creating love-themed decorations for the seniors at Brookdale Senior Living (and possibly other senior homes depending on how many we make!). One of the greatest threats to a senior’s emotional health is loneliness. Whether due to the loss of a spouse or being separated from other family members and friends. The simplest gesture can make a huge impact on a senior resident!

We are estimating that it’ll take about one (1) hour, give or take, to make your wreath. You will need a glue stick and hole punch for this craft.

This is NOT a craft that a young child can do independently. It involves hole punching, tying ribbon, spatial awareness, and decision-making on the best placement.

Is it a craft that can be done with an adult? Absolutely! This event is not one we recommend for ages 10 and under unless an adult is there to help.

Our recommendation for younger children would be to have one adult for every one OR two young children. There are plenty of steps young kids can help with including, writing a kind message, coloring, placing stickers on hearts, etc. but the making of the wreath is tedious and time-consuming.
