December Event: 9th Annual No Sew Fleece Blanket Event

Did you know that the project that sparked the idea for KindCraft came from Pinterest? A simple "pin" about making "no sew fleece blankets" led to all of this! We can hardly believe this will be our 9th year making blankets. We will donate them to a variety of local organizations.

Time & Location

Olathe Community Center, 1205 E Kansas City Rd, Olathe, KS 66061, USA

About The Event

Head to the store to pick out your favorite pattern fleece. Be sure to bring your kids and have them help you decide which blanket is the perfect one for their recipient.   Fleece can be purchased from Hobby Lobby, JoAnns, Michaels, Walmart, etc. You can often use a coupon or buy fleece when it's on sale to save on cost.

This year's event will be held at the Olathe Community Center. Register early because space will be limited.

You will need:

  • Fabric scissors (regular scissors will NOT work and will be very frustrating for kids
  • TWO pieces of coordinating fleece. The amount of fleece is dependent on the size you'd like to make.

Infant size blanket (TWO PIECES of coordinating fleece each 1 yard)

Child size blanket (TWO PIECES of coordinating fleece each 1.5 yards)

Teen/adult size blanket (TWO PIECES of coordinating fleece each 2 yards)

Large Group Registrations

KindCraft requires a minimum of 1 adult per 5 children group registration. There is a limit of 10 tickets per order. If your group has more than 10 attending, then you will need to register another adult KindCraft member for the remaining attendees.

Reminder: If you don't have a pair or two of fabric scissors, you may want to borrow or purchase some for this project. REGULAR SCISSORS DO NOT WORK. You and your children will end up very frustrated so PLEASE try to find some fabric scissors!

We are looking for student volunteers to help set up, facilitate, and take down this event.
