KindCraft's 2018 Year in Review

It is hard to believe that we are about to wrap up our THIRD year of service!! Time sure does fly! In 2018, we partnered with several organizations and spread lots of love!. Lets take a look back at what KindCraft families have done this year.

  • January 2018: Families packed over 1000 lunch sacks for Metro Lutheran Ministries! To see details about this event, click here.

  • February 2018: KindCraft, Evolve Outreach Inc. and Uplift Organization Inc. partnered together for the second year in a row to educate families about homelessness in Kansas City and assemble Bare Necessities bags. Together we filled 362 Bare Necessities bags that Evolve Outreach Inc. delivered to the homeless population in KC. To read more about this event, click here.

  • March 2018: KindCraft partnered with Ceramic Cafe and the Believe Big program to paint ceramic mugs for cancer patients at Gilda’s Club. To read more, click here.

  • April 2018: KindCraft Day at the K. KindCraft KC has to support our KC Royals! To see more pics from our fun day together, click here.

  • May 2108: KindCrafters assembled 500 bags for Mission Southside’s Backyard Bible summer program. To see more details, click here.

  • June 2018: We partnered with Free Hot Soup and made 1200 sandwiches to be given to the homeless in Kansas City. Read more here.

  • July 2018: Over 25 lemonade stands were held by KindCrafters all over Johnson County. Proceeds from the lemonade sales were used to purchase a total of over 2500 toy cars which were donated to Henry's Haul to be distributed to children at Children's Mercy Hospital.   • August 2018: KindCraft held a school supply drive for KVC and gathered to assemble 1,313 backpacks for children in the foster care system. Read more here!

  • September 2018: KindCrafters made 230 Care Bags for seniors. The event was hosted by Ascension Catholic School and the bags were donated to Catholic Charities to be used in several of their programs that support seniors who are homebound or seniors who live on their own without much family contact.   • October 2018: We gathered to make plarn (plastic yarn) balls which will be weaved into approximately 10 sleeping mats for the homeless. Details about this event can be found here.

  • November 2018: KindCraft partnered with Something to Eat and packaged over 9,000 meals that were given to Convoy of Hope to help feed those in need. Read more here.

In December, KindCraft will hold several No Sew Blanket events, as this was the catalyst activity for KindCraft. A simple idea from Pinterest led to all of this! We are anticipating hundreds of blankets will be made and excited to bless MANY organizations with our blankets! Stay tuned for updates on how we "wrap" up our year in LOVE with our cozy blankets.
